Thunderball

Thunderball ★★★½

Clean, endearing, nice-looking fun. Far more silly than serious spy stuff. It is however over-convenient and campy. The action’s decent and Connery’s still rockin’ the Bond role.

Thunderball‘s premise could be the predecessor to stories like Broken Arrow, Austin Powers, or even True Lies where stolen Nuclear devices are ransomed from governments.

The SPECTRE villains are hilarious. It was nifty to see all 9 double 0 agents in the same room. Also nifty was the Macau-Red Dragon reference that would later be a setting in Skyfall.
