    Firstly, I'll address the fact that technically, this is a well-made film. It has great cinematography and understandstands the pace it needs to be at to effectively get the story across. It's enjoyable in its aesthetic and is made wittily.

    Himiko is a disturbing film but not in the sense that it is reliant on gore or visual torture. It is all embedded within the narrative as the simplistic backdrops force the audience to focus directly on the twisted story itself. This, in turn, leaves a feeling of unease upon viewing.
