The Card Counter

The Card Counter ★★★★½

it is a weight which can never be removed

you never asked

that narrative was broken

the body remembers

is there no end to punishment

i often feel that paul schrader is the filmmaker i understand most intimately (cronenberg, malick, mann please do not read this); it is always an unpleasant, a terrifying thought

special thanks to the coconut la croix representation, a shoutout to oscar issac's solid buttocks and thighs, and most importantly oh how i loved those tortured screams

don't get complaints about the way this looks or sounds, both rule (one shot legit had me ready to gasp); do understand why some might not find this as "fun" to watch unfold as i do (in that case, congrats on possibly being a person and/or having a reason to want to keep living)
