Inferno

Inferno

It’s official: I will forever be condemned to have a new favorite Dario Argento movie with every viewing. Not much of the same insanity as Suspiria, nor the unbridled self-indulgence and metatextualism in Tenebre, but Inferno boasts a convoluted plot that doesn’t even matter in the film’s overall makeup. It’s a challenging trip through the madness and mysticism thrown around, once again by witchcraft, and a journey of brutality that really showcases how Giallo deserves its worth as a pivotal exercise of film art.
