    Caliber 9

Well damn, as my first poliziotteschi film, those first five minutes sure make a statement. Caliber 9’s pre-credits sequence is a slick day-in-the-life of the criminal underworld, following a package of money between drops through the city, erupting into (literally) explosive violence when things go wrong. The Confession

"You must confess your guilt. As an obedient member of the party, you must submit."

Jordan Peele is a god damn genius! Both Get Out and Us are so original and deliciously evil that I need a second helping. It’s been really refreshing to see more and more clever and creative horror films over the last few years and this is just another example. Muted colours coupled with ambient music and disturbing images that come together to make a really atmospheric and intelligent horror film. It’s making me really excited to see what’s in store for us in the next few years now that these mind of horrors are finally getting attention.
