Annette ★★★★

One of the most simultaneously conventional and non-conventional films I’ve seen, and it’s beautiful. Has a nearly fantasy feel to it, which is weighted down with modernity. I enjoyed myself thoroughly as I did with Holy Motors, but unlike Holy Motors, I didn’t feel Leos Carax’s pompous implications too much (although I certainly felt his style), instead I enjoyed the wild ride ahead.
