    Godzilla vs. Kong

    ★★★½

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

GODZILLA VS. KONG is the first time in a over a year that I wish I could've seen a movie on the big screen with a completely full theatre at a late showing on opening night.

For the record, I've always been TEAM KONG. Always have. Always will.

I've seen all the Monarch/Monsterverse films. SKULL ISLAND and this one are my faves. The Godzilla films are shot so dark that ALIENS VS. PREDATOR: REQUIEM even complain that it's tough to…

  • The Empty Man

    The Empty Man

    ★★★½

"The Empty Man" kinda feels like two or three different films, but it had me fascinated and intrigued the entire time. It's quite good and confident. All the pieces might not technically fit together, but like abstract art, sometimes that still makes a beautiful picture. Definitely worth checking out. More than likely, it's NOT the movie you think it is. Save for some modern camera and whatnot flourishes, it has a bit of an old school horror feel. It takes…

The 4:3 aspect ratio is pointless. That's not a creative vision. You just need a new monitor...

I don't mind the length (that's what she said). I like long movies. I like storytellers being able to tell their stories. And with these huge movies that cost hundreds of millions of dollars, might as well give audiences and filmmakers their money's worth.

There are aspects and pieces of Snyder's storytelling prowess that I kinda like. I like how he is trying…

    Demolition Man

    ★★★★

I have always loved this film, but it is interesting to examine the politics & themes involved with it these days. The world goes from one form of extremism and oppression (overt & excessive violence on all sides of the law) to another form of extremism and oppression (an overly sensitive, censor-happy, thought-police laden & panoptic society). It then seems to say that the only way to fix one broken form of extremism, is to battle it with the other form of extremism.…

    Unhinged

UNHINGED is a pretty good 90s throwback thriller.

It's almost shocking how useless the police are in this film though.

I mean, Keystone Cops are watching this film and laughing at the ineptitude...
