    Holy fucking shit

Definitely go watch this one. Chances are if you don't like it sincerely as I do, you'll probably have a "So bad it's good" relationship.

I have ADHD. When I watch things, I usually have to be doing something with my hands, either using my phone or building model kits. A film has to put in the legwork and be interesting to have my full attention. I wish I could help it but I can't. It takes…

  • Soul

Honestly, I didn't think Pixar had it in them anymore.

I've gotta say, it's hard for me to articulate thoughts while they're only half finished, so I definitely need to rewatch this one.
But um, first impressions are it's great.
I feel very refreshed having watched a film that cares. It's been a while.

When the first trailer dropped, I was real excited, until we saw the soul world stuff, which had me a little disappointed. I was expecting something…

  • Jurassic Park

    Jurassic Park

I'd call Jurassic Park a 3 star film... But I should point out that it's a classic for a reason, and is still more fun, and more important than most big films being made today.

  • Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan

Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan

I hadn't seen this film for over a decade... I wasn't missing out much. I mean, obviously I enjoy it mocking gross parts of American culture, and it's interesting to make a film where only the leads know they are in a film... But it was just kinda okay.

  • Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith

I don't really have that much to say about episode III, people already know what it's like.

Revenge of the Sith is the first thing I think of when somebody says "Star Wars"
It's the only film set during the clone wars after all.

I claimed there's a lot of great stuff in Attack of the Clones that is hard to find, because you have to dig for it.
Well in RotS you don't. It's entertaining enough on its own,…

  • Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor

Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor

The Day of the Doctor is a masterpiece, and my only opportunity to talk about NuWho on Letterboxd so hold tight.

Moffat pulled off the impossible in writing a satisfying end centred around the Moment, but I'll begrudgingly admit impossible is just what he does.

However, if you're not here to indulge in messy and personal fangirling: basically this special/film is genius, it's gorgeous, and filled head to toe with talented people on both sides of the camera.
    Fan service…

  • Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones

In a lot of ways, this film is baaad... But there's so much stuff I love when you dig deep enough coz I'm a huge nerd. And I think the way the prequels present the celebrated rise of a fascism is really interesting.

I really wanted to go through the film bit by bit in this review, go real in depth explaining what I see in it.
Unfortunately I've been thinking on it for days and my memory is dreadful,…

  • National Treasure: Book of Secrets

    National Treasure: Book of Secrets

It's basically the first one but again. I know that's exactly what it wanted to be, but I feel a sequel has to bring more to the table and this just didn't.
    Still a good watch though.

  • National Treasure

    National Treasure

It's so intentionally ridiculous and fun that it's hard not to at least enjoy it. Far from perfect, but it's got charm.

  • Murder on the Orient Express

    Murder on the Orient Express

I've somehow never experienced any version of Murder on the Orient Express until now. Which very surprising, I'm a slut for mysteries.

From what I can see in this film, the Christie story is pretty damn good. This adaptation? Decent.

I had a blast, and that's what matters. Totally called it though.

  • Doom

This is not a good film.
It is however, silly and fun, which is why it gets two stars.

Making evil a canonically genetic trait in humans is pretty fucking disgusting, and I hope I don't need to explain why.

  • Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace

The Phantom Menace is pretty solid.
If you can handle Jar Jar being Jar Jar, then it's a pretty good watch. I think it slows down a bit too much on tatooine, but other than that the pacing is nice and swift.

My main problem? Holy shit this film is so much more racist than I remembered!
I was showing this film to my girlfriend who hasn't seen much Star Wars, and I was extremely embarrassed whenever characters such as…
