Al Ratul’s review published on Letterboxd:
Sound Of Metal is great. I was able to visualise one of my biggest fears in this film. It explores someone dealing with the massive life altering event of sudden hearing loss, and the way Riz Ahmed processes the experience and goes through various stages of grief and denial are incredible. His performance is grounded and deliberate. And the sound mixing/editing deserves so much attention this upcoming Oscar season. Its one of those film where I look back at that scene and almost put myself in tears again. So simple but so powerful. Undoubtedly my favorite film of 2020.
