Alex Kolpan’s review published on Letterboxd:
"It's like this: you wake and watch TV, get in your car and listen to the radio you go to your little jobs or little school, but you don't hear about that on the 6 o'clock news, why? 'Cause nothing is really happening, and you go home and watch some more TV and maybe it's a fun night and you go out and watch a movie. I mean it's got so bad that half the people on TV, inside the TV, they're watching TV. What are these people watching, people like me?"
(I'm writing this as my night stand lamp light sporadically flickers--something it has never done before--thanks for freaking me out even more lamp)!
What a fucking nightmare, and I mean that in the best way possible.
One of the more truly terrifying non horror movies I've seen a while.
Lynne Ramsay perfectly sets the tone from the get go and doesn't let up.
Love the use of the color red which appears in nearly every damn scene.
Tilda Swinton and Ezra Miller were insane in this movie. The scene where they both have dinner completely blew me away.
Can't recommend this enough. One of my new favorites for sure.
