Letterboxd — Your life in film

god remember when high school movies were actually like really funny

action scenes and pretty much all of the gags absolutely bang but this script feels like it was written in the ‘90s in all the worst ways. still a fun way to celebrate my first year of uni being officially (and finally) over :)

a cruel and stupid slew of pathetic cheapshots that toys with its audience, somehow pulling all of its most crucial punches as it kicks us in the face with hollow glossy horseshit. on rewatch, all the things i liked about it (mainly the great cast) feel like weapons meant to draw me in just for the sake of mean-spirited rug-pulls that it doesn’t have the balls to follow through with anyway. i think we need a break from “subversive” rape-revenge movies.

i am once again asking for all of a famous actress’s outfits

opens with a watchmen quote(?!) and then proceeds to gawk at and sensationalize nearly every subject it half-assedly tries to portray, at one point even following a grieving woman around as she leaves the room in a clear effort to be alone with her anguish. there are some things you just shouldn’t document.

it won’t win but it’s best picture in my heart!
