Just a trash panda searching for more horror, don't mind me!
The simplicity and precision with which the animators made this are absolutely the reasons that it holds up so well today. The bright colors, the flat black creatures and animations, it doesn't look dated because it looks stylized. Pretty good for almost a century past.
"People think that science is here, *points to his mind.* But it is also here, *touching his heart.*"
Would I build an elaborate, morally-questionable, device to bring my cat back to life, if something terrible happened to him? Yes, because he's the best boy in the whole world. Would I think twice about it? No. So all of this is very relatable.

"For those who decide not to find it, there can be nothing."
I was reminded of a thing about myself today: sjfkdlghsljk I hate bugs, even when they're animated.
Otherwise, I really enjoyed this. It's fun, unique, and even though it's not perfect, it was super engaging. I've always found stop-motion to be equally creepy and whimsical, and this project fit that vibe exactly. The third story is my favorite: that shit hits hard.
I feel like I should note:…
“What does the word home mean to you?"
"A place that I do not have to leave."
Important. This story is at an intersection of so many different layers of life and struggle and war and self-discovery. I liked the format, the way that the animation was his story and the live film punctuated moments.
"Oh, my beloved country. You are in pain and I have no cure."
