I absolutely loved this. 'Ready Player One' is a beautiful reminder of our society's love for pop culture, and why that love is so important to us. The visual effects are stunning in every aspect, and the soundtrack complimented the overall feel of the film very well. The cast, contrived mostly of young Hollywood's best, does not disappoint.
For me, 'Ready Player One' reminded me of why I love the things that I love. It reminded me that my devotion to movies is valid, and that because of this passion, I have been able to connect with many wonderful people who enjoy the same things that I do. I cannot appreciate enough the people I have met and the experiences I have had due to my love for film.
Aside from the themes, the visual effects are another major point as to why the film is so good. This movie has some of the cleanest and brilliant digital visuals that I have seen in a long time. I do not want to give much away, but there is a scene involving 'The Shining' that I believe is absolutely fantastic from a technical standpoint.
Overall, 'Ready Player One' is a film about taking chances, the power of love and friendship, and the importance of a safe haven for all. We all need an escape from the stresses of reality; we all need our own Oasis.
