Quite a disappointment. I was so hyped for this to be good, too.
Carey Mulligan is absolutely amazing. She's been a favorite of mine for a long time. But, unfortunately, she can't save this movie by herself. She can't save it from its weird tonal shifts, from its uninspired cinematography, from its bland script, from the expectations that the film's marketing set up, or from its awful third act.
The 3 stars are for Carey and a fun soundtrack/score (a score that's fun, but ultimately, poorly utilized.)
