Imagine driving to a middle school to beat lil children with cricket bats and not being seen as a pedophile. Welcome to America, bullying was invented here.
I read the script while watching this time and that made me think more about what the actors brought. But really there are just so many moments that get me. Like when Mitch borrows what Matthew McConaughey says about post grad to pass as 18. When Adam Goldberg thinks about the legacy he leaves by not hitting the Nazi and his whole thought process leading up to him actually doing it. Pink driving Mitch home. Sabrina sitting on the curb. Every scene with Parker Posey smacking her gum. And Rory Cochrane, who brings a grounding effect to this & Empire Records, proving to be my fave once again. Also the fact that Jason London has a twin irl, is that even allowed?? And as usual, Ben Affleck getting type cast and hardly needing to act to capture perpetually terrible O'Bannion. All pulled together with this iconic soundtrack that, if we're being real, peaks with War's Low Rider.
