Andie Wheatley’s review published on Letterboxd:
Clearly on a 2000s rom-com kick! Oh my GOD Kate Bosworth’s character wears a retainer? SO relatable. OCTAVIA SPENCER IS IN THIS?! And completely wasted along with the glorious Kathryn Hahn. These two came out victorious in the long run that’s for sure.
Ginnifer Goodwin’s BFF character is real weird but at least she’s interesting! Her reaction upon hearing about in flight movie players: “Ok I would like to touch intimately the person who thought of that!” But I do enjoy that Topher Grace proving his love asks Tad Hamilton how often she wears her hair in straight mode and curly mode and classifies her smile types, like actually that’s pretty cute. But ain’t none of these white people have chemistry, what a shame!
It’s really sad to me that when I hear “Can’t Get Enough of Your Love Baby” by Barry White, I think of Topher Grace lip syncing to his dog in this movie. That ain’t right. And another use of “Why Can’t I?” by Liz Phair, what a banger. Man I’m sad younger Andie spent money on this to see it in theaters AND own it on DVD. But we all make our choices don’t we?
