This is probably more of a four star film but I'm giving it five because of two extenuating circumstances.
Firstly, I love Tony Clifton. And Jim Carrey playing Clifton is one of my favorite things. So it was a huge treat to suddenly be given more 'Carrey as Clifton' stuff after 20 years. I'd happily watch a two hour movie of just that.
Secondly, I love modern-day, bearded, existential crisis Jim Carrey. I mean, I worry about him and fear he won't be okay. But good god, he's really onto something.
