been a carey mulligan fan since she starred in one of the best hours of tv ever, the 'blink' episode of doctor who, so it's been great watching her career take off, and she's terrific in this.
this feels like a tough one to talk about without spoilers, so i'll just say that i liked it quite a bit, if not as unreservedly as some others did. the second half is markedly better than the first, and the ending is about perfect. and of course the standard bonus points for clancy brown (playing a non-tough guy for once) and molly shannon, even if the latter in particular has a really small role
anyway i feel like a lot of other people have a lot to say about this movie (with good reason), so i'll leave it at that!
