Unsane ★★★

Much like Sawyer in the Highland Creek Behavioral Center, there's a better movie trapped inside "Unsane."

I waffled between 2.5 and 3 stars for this, and ultimately went with the slightly higher rating because of Soderbergh's success in creating an atmosphere of paranoia and dread. But atmosphere is really all there is to "Unsane," aside from a good performance from Claire Foy, an underutilized Amy Irving, a woefully miscast Jay Pharoah, and a plot that relies an awful lot on what seems to be a helluva coincidence.
