    The Innkeepers

So, I’m super pumped for X - if I’m honest, it’s the film I’m most excited for this year, even topping my list before I watched Scream. That being said, I’ve also been shitting on this movie quite hard the past few days because I’d previously seen half of it, and… it was rough, which left Ti West as a mixed bag in my book. HOWEREVVVER, I now must eat my words because this was not the worst. It didn’t…

So, I won’t lie… I went into this will every intention to hate it because Lars Von Trier annoys every fiber of my being, but alas, I am impressed once again. It immediately grabbed me with its nightmarish mood, delivering consistent feelings of feverish terror, but it sold me with how much it grew with each symbol. There’s a lot of meaning buried into each scene, and I kept wanting to learn more. The entire film feels like the video tape from The Ring, and to be honest, that is exactly the type of movie I needed right now LOL.

    C'mon C'mon

    “I’ll remind you of everything.”

I’m blown away. Absolutely blown away. C’mon C’mon is a story about the freedom, the vulnerability, the compassion that comes with adolescence. It’s about family, and how important it is to be apart of one. It’s about loss, grief, & pain; Mike Mills covers a variety of topics on an emotional landscape that is so raw and empowering without sugar coating any truths. Unforgettable work of art.

As soon as it started, I immediately realized I had already seen it LOL. I watched it a few years ago with some friends, but unfortunately, I didn’t remember how I felt about it… which makes sense because there wasn’t much to remember, in my opinion. There were a few good moments, but overall, the film didn’t meet the measure, and the concept is freaking bomb too!! I do love anthology films, though, so I naturally enjoyed parts of this,…

When I first had the pleasure of watching this movie, I questioned whether or not it pushed the limits enough to be considered a five star project. I undoubtedly loved the shit out of it, but you can only have so many favorites. On my second watch, this time presented on the pleasure of my TV while I laid on my floor and cried, I realized it holds a special place in my heart. It’s incredible.

    The Stepford Wives

An immediate guilty pleasure watch. Fun, goofy, completely off the rails. Glenn Close screaming “BACK OFF!” is unforgettable. What a good time!!

  • Ringu

Honestly, what a treat. Dead by Daylight announced that Ringu will be making its way into the horror hall of fame, and since The Ring is one of my favorite films of all time, I figured it was time to finally check it out… and, of course, I loved it. I wasn’t sure what to expect going into it (again, I love The Ring, and didn’t know how they would compare), but this film has a distinct, individual mood that felt…
