A stylish bore and a hollow character study. I simply did not care. Citizen Kane is one of my favourite films, so maybe I was expecting too much from Mank? Tbh, Welles and Citizen Kane take a back seat in this film, they both hardly matter. Every time Amanda Seyfried was on screen I smiled. Forget Mank, I want a film about Marion.

Easily Nolan's most confusing film to date, and perhaps his most complex. A film that you certainly will need to see more than once, especially with subtitles. It's massive, loud, mind-blowing, intense and probably a dozen other things. When the film finished I left my brain on my seat and walked backwards out of the cinema.
