• King Richard

    King Richard

    ★★★½

There is nothing that special about this movie. Feels like a movie from the 90s of a regular sports biography. The movie was way too long and a lot of the themes kept repeating themselves over and over again. We get it Venus and Serena’s dad had a plan and everyone he met along the way wanted him to do something different. After the fifteenth time a character says “come on Richard this isn’t how it’s done just take the…

  • Dune

    Dune

    ★★½

Updated: I watched it a second time and still the same result, it’s just a pompous Star Wars with so much exposition in it because the plot is too convoluted. This movie tells you what the story is and doesn’t show you what the story is.  Also not sure I’m a Timothée Chalamet fan, he thoroughly underwhelmed in this movie and in French Dispatch.

Original: This movie feels like episode two of a ten part miniseries. You come into the…

    No Time to Die

    ★½

The name of this movie should be called James Bond 007 : No One Is Allowed To Have Fun Anymore

  • The Many Saints of Newark

    The Many Saints of Newark

    ★★

This movie shouldn’t have happened. It doesn’t feel like Sopranos at all. The look, the sound, the music, the caricature style acting of old beloved characters, and the pacing all feel off. Fifteen minutes into the movie when they have a reference to something from the show I just thought to myself “why am I not watching the Sopranos instead?”

  • The Happening

    The Happening

    ★★½

At first I went into this and had high hopes for a good horror movie and then was extremely disappointed. But once expectations went away then I was able to lean back and enjoy how bad this movie is. This is one of those cases where “it’s so bad that it’s good” type of horror movies. It’s definitely not a good movie at all but it is so stupid that you end up laughing harder at it than movies that actually try to be funny. It’s a dumpster fire but the fumes will get you high off of it’s stupidity.

  • Tenet

    Tenet

    ★★

Setting aside the nonsensical inverted time science bullshit of TENET, all other basic aspects of what a movie needs are also incomprehensible. There is a complete lack of understanding of simple character motivations. The so called “world building” crumbles beneath the heady concepts and has no leg to stand on or ever gives you a sense of where you are or why you’re there. There is some sort of a plan in the movie that is the driving force of…

  • Mortal Kombat

    Mortal Kombat

Fight scenes are shot and choreographed horribly, the editing is incomprehensible, the story and dialogue are trash, the acting is atrocious. Scorpion and Sub Zero are the best parts of the movie and they’re barely in it and the time is taken up by brand new characters that aren’t from the video game that make no sense and have no reason to be in the movie. The rest of the other original characters are either written or acted so poorly…

  • O.J.: Made in America

    O.J.: Made in America

    ★★★★½

Great docu-series but not a movie. Movies aren’t 10 hours long and span over multiple weeks and are edited to reflect commercial breaks.

    Zack Snyder's Justice League

    ★½

Somehow this is worse than the other one. 4 hours of garbage.
