    Gal Gadot and Chris Pine have such great chemistry that I wish that the whole movie was a slice of life one short story and I would love to see her and Kristen Wiig be gal pals and hang out (or all three of them be the thruple they were meant to be). That would’ve been nicer than this convoluted story that meant well but makes almost no sense. It just didn’t have the same spark as that first one.

    Robert is giving it his all but the best scene was when the monster is first born and DeNiro and Branagh are slipping in lube with no music playing, so many unnecessary cuts and the length of the scene itself. Unintentional comedic masterpiece

    The first half is unnecessary, but when we got to the camp rivalry stuff and we see Kronk and Birdwell making bread together and the scene of them kneading the dough is framed as if Kronk was blowing her back out, that took me out!! That’s all I was thinking about through the duration of the movie!!

It’s not funny or the comedy gets drawn out in an exhaustive manner, with some exceptions from Bill Hader and James Ransone, a lot of the lines are poorly written and there are several small things that just bug me.     Interesting start into Godard’s filmography and I didn’t particularly care for this. I like what he’s doing with sound and image and distorting or changing the two in some way, but the actual story never seemed to grab me in the same way. Weirdly though I think seeing this in the theater would make it both better and worse.

    The addition of Dell’s interpersonal relationships with his family improve the character, but also the American micro aggressions surrounding race handled by a white director get under my skin.  Otherwise it’s just fine like the original.

    Saw this at the drive in but I couldn’t see ANYTHING the lighting was so bad. It’s a shame because reading the plot made this sound really good, but unfortunately a lot of the plot relied on the visuals and I got nothing from it.
