    The Price of Everything

    ★★★½

Inside the soulless world of the high-end contemporary art market where a shiny bauble by Jeff Koons can sell for millions and end up in the Manhattan apartment of a hedge fund manager.

  • Station Six-Sahara

    Station Six-Sahara

    ★★★½

Temperatures rise among the all-male staff at a remote desert oil facility when sultry Carroll Baker crashes her automobile into a non-flammable part of the infrastructure. Unusual but compelling hothouse drama capitalises on Baker's Baby Doll screen image, while the squabbling double act of Ian Bannen and Denholm Elliott surely deserved a spin-off movie of their own.

Set against the snowscapes of Lapland, Erik Blomberg's The White Reindeer is a wonderfully atmospheric supernatural tale of witchcraft, shape-shifting and vampirism. If Mario Bava and Robert Flaherty had ever co-directed a movie, it may well have looked something like this. A great rediscovery, available on the UK's Masters of Cinema label.
