Anybody interested in grabbing a couple of burgers and hittin' the cemetery?
Wow I really wish I got around to this film earlier. One of the few modern adventure films that maintains that classic speilberg innocence and intrigue, but doesn’t sacrifice any sophistication. Sam Neil gives the best performance I’ve ever seen from him. It’s hilarious, heartfelt, and has surprisingly well done action and suspense. The cinematography and editing are top notch, and The film has a kickass score, making a wide range of genres work perfectly. Even when you think you get the message of the film, it always manages to dig deeper which is a bonus. Excellent film, and definitely my favorite now from the director.
This is one I had to process for a while before my review. First off, Andrew Garfield is one of my favorite actors and this might be his best performance ever (The Social Network and Under the Silver Lake are pretty close), and he totally nails what he’s given.
