Wow, how much I've changed my perspective on this movie, but maybe going through a break up rn has something to do with it lol.
Noah went ooga booga genius here; it's just so tightly constructed and directed, the details, there's so much shit in the details. The script is fucking amazing, eloquent and natural. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE is acting their asses off, even the fucking lawyers and the woman who visits Charlie for dinner, but my god…
I wanted to close off with a feel good movie and I picked the right one. While very moving at points, the funny and the ultimate joy of the film do not allow you to feel anything but happiness.
A beautiful Christmas story, a blood pumping thriller and a moving look into the human condition.
Aside from some really cool shots and sequences and an outstanding sense of scale and realism the movie is fine.
It's got a pretty average human plot, nothing to go crazy for and Bryan Cranston could've carried the whole ass movie, but they just killed him. This movie needed way more Cranston and less Johnson and family, less military shit and more Serizawa and Graham.
