I love this so much! Has got to be the most pleasant and kind movie I've seen forever!
'Utterly relatable' is a perfect description of Kiki's Delivery Service. The excitement of what's out there, seeing for yourself and without your parents for the first time, trying to fit in a new environment, showing off, slowly making friends, the zest that comes with an opportunity to show what you've got, the mishaps that come with overconfidence, trying to find a way around trouble, the burnout, and the recovery. Yep, we've all been there.
The stakes are low but it's a really investing story. The mere identification with Kiki's character is enough for anyone to enjoy this classic. It's a social utopia and while there aren't many external struggles, Kiki's Delivery Service mirrors the real world with a touch of Miyazaki magic. It also features Miyazaki's innovative airship design: the broom. And there's this black cat Jiji and this white cat Lili. It's adorable! Kids and grown ups will undoubtedly enjoy.
So absolutely charming and one of my favorites!
