I was going into this expecting that I would not like it again. I surprisingly found it charming and decent this time around. I actually wasn’t paying attention to the plot the first time around, and found out that all the plots tied together nicely. There were even several funny jokes that I laughed at! Sure, it isn’t perfect due to the ugly designs of the Assimilation people, but I wouldn’t mind watching this every Halloween.
And now for the part that originally bugged me the most (which is why I spoiler marked this): Uncle Fester’s relationship with Parker’s mother. Turns out I was not paying attention to this either and zoned out during the movie. He has a throwaway line during the town tour scene about liking Parker’s mom, and agrees to help her sell homes towards the end, so it isn’t as random as I thought it was.
