I was expecting to downgrade this, but instead I bumped it up 1/2 star. Despite its few shortcomings, mostly involving Edward Furlong's acting, and his juvenile banter with the kinder, gentler T-101 (no doubt a reflection of Schwarzenegger's star power), T2 is every bit as good as its predecessor. This is blockbuster filmmaking of the highest order, featuring a stripped-down, crystal clear narrative, and a handful of masterfully executed, emotional and action-packed set pieces. It's a credit to Cameron that with barely any screen time a character's death in the third act truly resonates. And then of course there is Linda Hamilton, the unlikely hero who stands out amongst the carnage as a kick-ass force of nature with few equivalents to this day.
Now excuse me while I go find my G N' R records.
