This might have been the most uncomfortable cinema experience I've ever taken on, yet there were indeed parts that were amusing, human and very well-made. My leg also went stiff. And the reason why it was uncomfortable was because, while I didn't shed much tears at the small lack of surprise I got from this film (since it is what people would consider a typical Ken Loach story which doesn't end nicely), it is meant to be a worst case…

Film #6 of the "Scavenger Hunt 16" challenge
Task #19 A movie with a batman villain actor/actress. (Heath Ledger)

I really hope I don't end up sounding heteronormative here. I'm completely gay and I want to ensure anybody reading that I am analysing the emotions of everyone.

Because I do feel that, other than being a film about a gay relationship in a different era, this is actually the film where I feel sorry for everyone, for being in such…

T/w: offensive psychologist comments about autistic people.

If you're wanting to watch this, get ready for disgusting comparisons between 'emotionless' Daleks and autistic 'behaviour', saying we get 'better' in 'special' school and that we are kept at bay by teachers from becoming Daleks. Fuck off!

The fact that James Corden only really had 10-15 minutes screentime, 80% of which animated, 20% is him live-action at his most irritating, and people on Film AND Musical Theatre Twitter still hated him tons for just featuring him. And he is an executive producer of this daft, cheesy flick, when without wanting to be too rude, I would definitely regard James Corden, creatively, as 'musical film poison', because of these constant, ongoing criticisms. Plus, of all of the typical…

Well, so many characters, so many arseholes. Delivered in good taste, a great form of storytelling (better than Shutter Island the previous night) and in some cases, sympathy, even though the coke-infused emotional connection proves to be false, replaced by moaning of being forced out of a life of crime and goes into divorce. Good, old yet mean caption endings.

A special shoutout to the technical side, especially the sound mixers. Never has a gangster film sound so entertaining and enchanting. And fantastic improv with the famous steadicam shot. Why on Earth did my college tutors not teach me that?
