Minari

Minari ★★★★

Sweeping, heart wrenching, lushly photographed illustration of an immigrant family’s attempts, disasters and eventual persistence through the mythologically sought after American Dream

Tonal changes aren’t too jarring but brutally effective nevertheless. Steven Yeun provides an impeccable performance that shockwaves through the rest of the cast, with everyone playing off his energy with ease.

Superbly made drama — an immigrant story that’s so down to earth, it’s rooted in the ground, slowly flourishing.
