A film hasn’t impacted me this much in a while. Chloe Zhao’s direction made me feel as if I was living through Fern’s life. When she laughed, I smiled. When she lost something, I grieved. Most importantly, though, I experienced life and nature with her. Thus, Nomadland has shown me to just simply live. As simple as that may seem, it was refreshing and inspiring to see a film that had that message.
And of course, I couldn’t possibly write this…
why does kaufman enjoy making me feel stupid? anyways, despite not understanding what was going on for much of this, i was consistently entertained by the dialogue and performances. i can only see my rating going up on a rewatch.

I was honestly enjoying this for the first two acts, but then the third act was just unbearably lame and disappointing. I don’t even know what this was going for or who the target audience was.
