There’s always been this talent lurking within Adam Sandler. And sure everyone likes to point out his more dramatic work like Punch Drunk Love or The Meyerowitz Stories, but even in his comedic work like The Wedding Singer or Happy Gilmore he taps into that same primal talent. An almost sociopathic quality that’s fueled by anger and a drive to succeed. He becomes this force of nature on screen that is breathtaking to say the least.

    The Safdies also tapped…

Dad cinema is one of the best types of cinema and don’t let anyone tell you differently.

Spy Kids 3-D’s Mega Race walked so Alita’s Motorball sequence could run.

Not so much Bay at his fullest, but definitely the platonic ideal of a Michael Bay Filmé. Extremely well crafted chaos with a juvenile energy coursing through every frame. It asks the really important question of: What if instead of just 2 bad boys, there were 6?

Cinema? Not cinema? One thing is certain, Marty hasn’t lost his touch. We are truly spoiled that we get to witness a film with this many greats, if only for the last time together. There’s a certain poetry at work in The Irishman that is at times both indulgent and reflective. A great reckoning for a genre built on the fragile and volatile masculine facade. This film is less focused on a man’s journey through the mob and the spoils of war, but instead the aftermath of a life filled with sin. This is Goodfellas: Endgame. Thank you and goodnight!

None of the events depicted here probably ever happened, but by god does this make for great entertainment. A lurid and effervescent musical about the first step to finding love...learning to love yourself.

Forget Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, this is the best soundtrack of 2019. That needle drop of September gave me an out of body experience.

Hi there! I was just wondering if you had a moment to talk about Samara Weaving and whether or not you’ve accepted her as our new modern scream queen?

  • Dolemite Is My Name

One of the easiest watches of the year that also has something important to say. It really gets to the heart of what the Blaxploitation movement was all about - representation. Much to think about from a silly little movie about making a silly little movie.

More of an adventure story than a straight up horror movie. I really hope that mainstream horror doesn’t go the way of the action spectacle.
