    Phantom of the Megaplex

I like to think of this movie as the genesis of my formation as a “cinephile”. Sure other people have films like Star Wars or late night clandestine viewing of The Shining that sparked a deep love for all things on film (or digital or what have you), I have Phantom of the Megaplex.

It’s a shame that the execution here isn’t that good at all, because it’s themes of the commercialization of the art of cinema and the magic…

  • The Body

    The Body

Takes a great little premise and stretches it to its absolute limits till it snaps in half. Leaving two bitter subplots that don’t go hand in hand with each other. Here’s to hoping the other eleven installments have more to do.

  • Flying

Spoilers kind of for Final Destination 5, but there’s a moment in this movie that almost exactly mirrors one of the deaths there and honestly I’m still kind of shaken.

  • American Hangman

    American Hangman

Saw for the gamer generation. We live in a society, but at what cost?

  • Bean

A little bean goes a long way.

  • Capsized: Blood in the Water

    Capsized: Blood in the Water

Probably would have been more effective as a documentary. But as a first foray into “Shark Week Official Films” it’s alright. Cheap thrills that pair perfectly with other more informative and entertaining programs.

  • Thor: The Dark World

    Thor: The Dark World

Not as needlessly stuffed or tedious as Iron Man 2, but still a far cry from anything praise worthy.

  • Iron Man 2

Fun Fact: The abomination’s skin from The Incredible Hulk was modeled after Mickey Rourke’s skin in this movie
