This is a fantastic movie. Not only was the journey the three characters tooks together done excellently, not only were the relationships between the three of them and the people on the outside extremely well written, not only were the voice overs giving us information but having that little spot of silence before each one so you would focus on the voice and feel that this is not a part of the story, not only was the cinematography beautiful and entrancing, but the mise-en-scene and background were exceptional. There was all this shit happening outside their window, cops and military pulling people over, protesters in the streets, the characters never really acknowledged it, but you can tell they know it's their, and because of that we know it's there, and that it will have an impact on them. But they're on vacation, they're having fun, so they can deal with it later. Loved this.
