• Surviving You, Always

    Surviving You, Always

a good bit too experimental for my taste, at times the film felt like an art installation in a museum.
in general i liked the way the subtitles pushed the story, the end with the last picture is what made me overthink my opinion about the film a bit. the silence that accompanied the end of the story really hit hard.

  • The Midnight Sky

    The Midnight Sky

    Story is key.

and i think the writer of this uninspired film must have forgotten his under his doormat

  • I'm Thinking of Ending Things

    I'm Thinking of Ending Things

Stunning visuals, the style (and I don't just mean the experimental 4-3 aspect ratio) is outstanding. colors and composition is executed in perfection here.
The storyline, however does unfold in an interesting and slow way. Which is not a bad thing, I had to smile a lot about the dirst scene being 20 minutes long. I really liked that experimental behaviour.
What I really don't like is that the final third of the film really appeard random to me and…

  • Focus

Just a nice film to watch. Interesting cast combo, it worked out pretty nicely.
The 'obstacles' he has to overcome aren't really a big deal though, the film lacked a certain thrill in my opinion.
Very entertaining though, so that's what makes it 3.5 stars.

  • The Room

    The Room

„two is great, but three is a crowd.“

the best worst film i‘ve seen yet. every time i watch it i notice new little details.

  • The Kissing Booth 2

    The Kissing Booth 2

i think you know what kind of film this is beforehand and you know that there is gonna be a lot of foreseeable events and so on - having said that, and knowing that, it‘s a pretty decent film for an evening you don‘t want to think a lot on.

    French for Beginners

    nostalgic and very cringe

  • Parasite

"you know what plan never fails?
    no plan at all."

a film that starts dialogue with the word "shit" can't be a bad one (prove me wrong).
to start, i love that a film outside of america or europe is able to develop such a big audience.

i've never seen a piece like this before. i don't know if i'm just petrified by the sheer depth this film seems to contain, but this is my review just after watching PARASITE.…

  • Dangerous Lies

    Dangerous Lies

    very creepy.
the experimental camera work reminds me a bit of the wave the nouvelle vague initiated. a slightly different approach to being a bit different than other films. the story is unfolding nicely, very solid film.

  • The Graduate

    The Graduate

    "What are you doing, Ben?"
    - "I would say that I'm just drifting in the pool."

    absurd. brilliant. ironic.

    full of metaphors, sad humoristic elements;

but without any honour or hope.

the story is immersive from the beginning. the camera work is experimental and on point.
