    Spider-Man: No Way Home

    ★★★★½

Spider-Man: No Way Home mostly accomplishes it’s extremely ambitious goals, that half banks off of audience nostalgia and the love of the famed Web slinger himself played so deftly by Tom Holland.

While the film is definitely another example of a studio out of ideas, so “here’s something you already know, now give us money & dance for us”. I am ashamed to say I danced for this studio. It’s truly a feast for the eyes to see all these acting…

  • One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

    ★★★★½

I love Chief, Chief is good.

Also Jack Nicholson is one of the greatest actors... maybe ever, Daniel Day Lewis is phenomenal, but Nicholson seems to just transform in this clearly iconic piece of cinema. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is relatable (I promise I'm not insane), heartwarming, heart breaking, it very much feels like Shawshank Redemption, but shorter & much more "Coo-koo".

I think I'd definitely watch this again, its a great film, with a great story and some great performances, a near masterpiece of cinema.

    Persona

    ★★★★

Persona is like Bergman's other films, which isnt always neccessaryily the greatest thing for me, but I'm still able to appriciate the level of intimate craft being seen on screen with his filmography. Most of his films have been nothing more than 4/5, which is still an amazing feat to have that consistent attention to quality with each pieces. However, his films have never truly blown me to away to the point of acclaiming "perfection". This film 'Persona', felt for…

    C'mon C'mon

    ★★★★½

Full of rich humanity. C'mon C'mon is a combination of fine film-making techniques, with thoroughly well written dialogue that touched my soul & my mind to it's core. Joaquin Phoenix flexes those subtle acting chops rather than the recent theatrics of the Joker that won him his Oscar & it's pretty great. There is a moment when he's reading a book to his nephew and it just breaks Phoenix. It broke me too. I also shared a tear in that moment. Such…

    Tenet

    ★★★★

Tenet isn’t my favourite of Christopher Nolan’s films, but what it is evidence of is his natural born purpose to make cinematic, heart pumping & absolutely nail biting unique science fiction thrillers. Seriously this man has such a clear passion for the art form, everything seems so intricately planned and placed. So smart & logically delivered, not just in screenwriting terms, but in filmmaking execution. It’s like he’s set himself a challenge, how can I film the world, but backwards. I’m just…

  • The Dig

    The Dig

    ★★½

While Ralph Fiennes gives it his all in The Dig, I can’t help but feel this source material would’ve been much more enjoyable and engaging as a mini series. As the only performances worth a damn are Carey Mulligan, Lilly James and Fiennes. There are enjoyable elements like the archeological dig, excavation and historical curiosity with its setting and artefacts, but it often feels like the film is trying to be one or the other, a biographical drama, or a…
