I enjoyed The Favourite. The script is hilarious, some of the funniest, cutting dialogue I’ve heard in a long time. The performances are wonderfully eccentric and outlandish, Emma Stone is great, however, I don’t see why everyone is raving mad about this movie, I really don’t. It’s good, but it’s nothing super special, not to me at least.
The cinematography is hideous, it has a rather ugly quality to it, almost not nice to actually watch. I thought the blacks were way too dark, you could barely see anything. Perhaps it was the projectionist at my cinemas fault?
Anyway, I had fun with it for the most part, just wasn’t completely wowed by it the way everyone else has been.
