    After reading some of the scathing reviews posted, I'm compelled to share my thoughts. I liked the home-erotic undertones between the two best friends, the cast is youthful and exhuberant and their characters are well developed, especially for a crime horror movie. The film does takes it time; nearly 50 minutes passes before the initial onscreen dispatch occurs. The violence is gruesome and well edited.     Man on Fire


    I didn't care for the aesthetics of the cinematography, but appreciate the style Paul Cameron achieved. I enjoyed the development of Washington and Fanning's characters relationship, but it seemed just as obvious, as the third act reveal. I'd forgotten Walken was in this film and enjoyed seeing him. The first portion could have been trimmed for brevity (nothing happened for while) and a reduction of the run time would have helped.

    I really enjoyed this. I hate long films, but the intimacy of the camera and stunningly owerful performances by the actors drew me in. The story was told in glances and grimaces, smiles behind tears and runny noses.
    I found the scene toward where Adele and Emma meet in the cafe so crushing; Adele's unrequited desire, not returned by Emma, spoke to an emotion, a feeling we can all relate to in adulthood.
