The absolute number one thing that everyone should be thinking about walking away from this movie is the chemistry between Kaitlyn Dever and Beanie Feldstein. The two of them together are just electric, and the world deserves more things with the two of them in it. My least favorite part about most comedies is when the plot tries to get earnest. It rarely works, and most of the time I find myself yearning to be back with the jokes. That’s…

Beautiful slice of life (my favorite). And a life extremely different than my own at that. All around such a subtle movie in the best way; from the score to the performances. Even the subtleties in the depictions of hardship; the physical hardships of farming, the emotional hardships of marriage and family, and even the hardships of being in a community very different from the ones you’re used to.

Protect Youn Yuh-jung and Alan Kim at all costs.

Watched via Lincoln Film Center Virtual Screening.

Would we be willing to lose our lives for it? And what about all of the obstacles and distractions along the way?  Sometimes those “distractions” are really just fate trying to tempt us…
