I truly believe this could have been a great film. The first half has lots of laugh out loud moments and sets up the story perfectly. Once Whaley and Connelly are locked in the Target it feels like things will get going. But it’s about half way through where it runs out of gas.
I appreciate Dermot Mulroney and his brother Kieran’s oddball performances as the store robbers but the whole idea felt like John Hughes was phoning it in…
