"You're getting older, and you'll see that life isn't like your fairy tales."
Pan's Labyrinth is incredibly beautiful and haunting. Guillermo del Toro did a phenomenal job blending fantasy and reality seamlessly. I enjoyed how he was able to successfully capture a little girl's innocence among this world of monsters, some worst in reality than those in fantasy. It's very dark and a roller coaster ride of emotions. From innocent sweetness, to high drama, to dark horror and back again with a child's fantasy as the rails. Overall, it's brilliant and some of what we look upon as horrible becomes the core beauty of the fantasy.
