(but usually coordinated by theme or color)
Sure, this is an important film. Yet, I take issue with how the documentary is myopically invested in the question of representation itself, rather than more critical and fundamental questions on trans aesthetics, affects, reading/viewing techniques, and politics. Its mainstream-focused and U.S.-centric view also forecloses more varied, radical, and avant-garde expressions of transness. Where is Dandy Dust, for example?? Or even By Hook or by Crook? Or Tangerine?!?!
