Wes’s review published on Letterboxd:
"If you see something out of the ordinary, something besides me and Sartorius, try not to lose your head."
"What would I see?"
"I don't know, that sort of depends on you."
I'm so completely ruined. I cant think straight. My search for my all time favorite director may officially be over. During my journey into Andrei Tarkovsky's work, hes proved with Stalker and now Solaris that no other director I've seen can use the language of cinema to communicate and delve into the deepest parts of ourselves so effectively and transformatively. The emotions and, ironically enough, the memories that surfaced while watching Solaris is much like the titular planet itself; ever shifting and yearning, constantly challenging and surprising.
Andrei, I miss you.
