First half or so of this movie — more focus on the cultural commentary on Hollywood at that time, less focus on Hughes as a subject — is absolutely delightful, but the back half feels like an entirely different movie with fighting interests clearly at play. My man Warren should have (a) had Elaine May do a pass on the final round of script edits (b) cut the number of producers (c) use one editor, my god, four is too many cooks!!!!!
tl;dr good if you want to yell “you bitch” but also “yes bitch!” when lily collins fucks warren beatty
