I don’t have the words to say how much I love this movie yet. It felt so small, from the location to the focus on a handful of characters, and so impossibly big in the story it captured.
I am also now craving the water from the mountains.
These movies really lost the whimsy and magic that made the first one so fun. Meh.
Feel like I would’ve liked this movie a lot more if I had watched it back in the tumblr days.
it feels like the writers were playing a game to see who could write the most offensive line of dialogue
was very, very late to watching this and absolutely amazed that y’all managed to keep literal “equisapiens” a secret
People are being very dramatic about how much they hated this. It was okay. Less earnest than Gal’s Imagine video which did make it more watchable. Wish it was campier.
Maria Bakalova was incredible, and so were Judith, Doris, and Jeanise for completely different reasons. The twist in the last ten minutes was *perfection*. The movie does a great job running through all of the things that make life in the U.S. a nightmare right now. My humble, simple wish is that people stop relying on southerners to do the heavy lifting on that, but I will get off my little soapbox before I go too far down that road
