Jake’s review published on Letterboxd:
MAJOR Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs vibes but somehow better. So much things going on in this film and they somehow nail all of it. Robots, the internet/social media, fatherhood, adulthood, family etc.
Olivia Colman is great (as usual) as the villain Pal, a smartphone who has lost faith in humanity.
The animation is very unique. It’s almost like a 90s cartoon but upgraded to 3D. It looks great.
My only gripes is that the comedy can be a bit too ‘in your face’ at times, and the last minute of the film does remove a bit of the impact of the ending.
That said, this is a top tier animated film and IMO better than most Pixar films. Well done Sony.
