    A Ghost Story

    ★★★★★

This picture perfect movie was amazing and painful. The aspect ratio added to its beauty and how they used that space with framing was haunting. This film was silent but so loud with each shot showcasing grief and the fragility of time. Due to this silence each shot, sound and song became evermore impactful and spoke volumes over any word said. The editing and camera movements showcased time progression in a unique way. So many brilliant scenes that will stick…

  • Love and Monsters

    Love and Monsters

    ★★★

Fun and easy watch. Dylan’s acting is outstanding and goes beyond the film. Michael Rooker is always such a good actor. Enjoyed the fun looking monsters and the scenery as it is filmed in Australia.

  • Saw III

    Saw III

    ★★½

This would be the perfect trilogy, everyone you care about is dead and it is the start to end of Amanda’s test. The twists in this one were more predictable but still satisfying with an interesting story. The traps also less about “appreciating life” but more for the sake of plot. I loved how it picked up from where the last movie ended and then retconned the previous movies also answering questions to how the fuck he laid there not breathing. Can’t even imagine what is to come.

  • Saw II

    Saw II

    ★★★★

What a great follow up to the first one, just as smart with some really good twists. I loved the world building and the introduction to the group of people which added a whole new layer to the horror. Jigsaw being so literal in his words is annoying but wow such a great villain unlike any. Loved the colouring and the transitions especially the first one. The editing is amazing and really makes it a Saw movie. The soundtrack is…

  • It Follows

    It Follows

    ★★★½

It follows was very stylistic in all aspects: the cinematography, the soundtrack, the acting. The opening scene is amazing, the tracking shots, the soundtrack building tension and the sounds off screen. The next few shots following are shocking and beautiful with the lighting, cutting at just the right places to introduce what is to come and maybe one of the best film openings. The scene in the diner with her head going down to reveal the person in the background…

  • Saw

    Saw

    ★★★½

Pretty cool that it made a whole new horror genre, invented escape rooms and started torture porn. I enjoyed the twists and the dialogue. I wished it stayed in the one room but I guess they had to expand the universe and push along the story. I enjoyed how the story played off and how smart it was. Glad to have finally watched such a “classic” film

I watched this cause a cute guy told me to and now I I’m in love with his taste of films. This was an enjoyable fast watch that made me reflect. Oliver Wood was a cutie who was relatable and told the story well.  The film had its funny moments but overall is about the heart and it’s feelings of love and pain which is told beautifully (crush).
The whole film felt like it was an artwork. The narration a…

I see why this is is everyone’s favourite film and I’m on board. It’s 4am and all I can think about is how much of a little bitch JT is and the glock line #bob.
David Fincher just thinks of a movie and it turns out perfectly as he imagined. Every shot with purpose- the push onto JT face telling you everything of what he intends for Wardo. The CGI that is done so well such as the breaths outside the…

  • Small Soldiers

    Small Soldiers

    ★★★½

This was a childhood favourite and it was perfect then and now however goofy it is a classic. The references endless and the animation/cgi done well

The what you can’t see is the scariest and this is what makes the film. Nothing they show could be scarier then your imagination and I love how they played into that idea. The sounds and the ambience in the distance gives you shiver, especially listening with headphones. The idea of found footage is always scary and I liked how only one of the cameras had audio which was used amazingly at the end. The ending itself was simple and…
