Fight Club

Fight Club ★★★★

Despite the somewhat videogame aesthetics I really like it and I think it is a successful adaptation of the novel (less pessimistic but it doesn't matter), the problem is that it is a very spectacular movie and if you see it without having read the book you risks misunderstanding it: it’s important to dwell on the protagonist's monologues and on the initial dialogues with Tyler rather than on the ending, which in Palahniuk's intent more than a twist is meant to be a metaphor of the identity crisis in contemporary society and of the average man’s of alienation and repression.
