Intolerance: Love's Struggle Throughout the Ages

D.W. Griffith, the o.g. film auteur, may have pioneered something else with this, his follow-up to birth of a nation. After accusations of racism were thrown at him for simply pointing out that black people would get chicken juice all over the floor of the Senate, D.W. pulled the now classic accused-of-being-racist-guy move by turning around and saying to his critics "aha! actually it is YOU who are the intolerant ones!"

    Mad Max: Fury Road

Drove up to L.A. to see a preview screening of this. Mind boggling. Hundreds of metal death machines speeding across miles and miles of arid desert without a drop of water in sight. A post-apocalyptic wasteland ruled by mad tyrants, where the slightest wrong move will kill you, and gasoline is worth its weight in gold.

Then I got to the theater and saw the movie. HEY-O.
